Last week, MCC Digital hosted a incredible Code Week Showcase, at The Royal Air Force Museum in Cosford. MCC Digital teamed up with partners Sphero, Twin Science & Robotics, Newline, and Tech She Can to deliver an unforgettable event. What a day it was!
Attendees were welcomed by hosts, MCC Digital and were given insights into the incredible benefits of learning coding skills and what future careers are available with the technology sector. Throughout the day, pupils and teachers were immersed in a world of science, technology, engineering, and sustainability.
Pupils worked collaboratively in small groups in order to discover more about the world of technology, with some of MCC Digital’s education partners.
Sphero
Sphero, facilitated two workshops demonstrating their popular education products indi and Bolt. The workshops gave pupils the experience of coding and programming in a whole new way. Taking pupils on an adventure through problem solving, creative thinking and of course coding!
Twin Science
Science and sustainability are at the heart of what Twin Science bring to the classroom, their fantastic teacher focused resources complement their innovative physical kits that bring science to life. Twin Science led fantastic, sustainable activities for the pupils that gave them an insight into the world of STEAM.
Tech She Can
Tech She Can delivered a fun and interactive workshop for the pupils that allowed them to discover how some of their current hobbies and passions could lead them into a future career in technology. They also explored how technology is advancing in the sport and creative arts sectors; discussing jobs in these areas and giving the students hands-on activities to complete using iPad.
Teachers and students were given time to explore the incredible venue – The Royal Air Force Museum, Cosford. The staff at the museum were on hand to answer any questions and told interesting stories about the aircrafts on display.
MCC Digital showcased amazing free resources available to teachers to support the teaching of coding in the classroom before finishing with a competition award ceremony. MCC Digital were impressed with all the incredible entries submitted and would like to congratulate the winning schools. See you all again at the next one!
