Sustainable & Affordable Financing

Creating an equitable learning environment

Equipping all schools, teachers and learners with up-to-date technology is key if we are to create a generation who are prepared for the future. Accessing this technology is often a barrier for many schools due to cost.

This shouldn't be the case, and we have tried and tested methods that can be used by all schools with varying budgets. Select the options below to learn more.

Subscription Leasing

Specially designed for schools, our subscription leasing models allow your school to take full advantage of the brilliant residual values of iPad and Mac. Freeing up certain costs to create a more affordable plan that can be sustained, year-on-year.

Residual value with Apple technology

Because Apple devices are durable – with reliable software and ongoing OS updates – they have high residual value. So unlike other devices that are given away or discarded at the end of their life cycle, Apple devices retain significant value over time and can be traded in when it’s time to upgrade – allowing education leaders to recoup costs and reinvest in their local education authorities.

Flexible terms

With payment terms ranging from one to five years, schools and local authorities can refresh their devices when it’s right for them. Apple also guarantees device buy-back and trade-in when it’s time to upgrade – giving leaders additional peace of mind.

No hassle returns

All of our educational leases are designed to ensure the return process is as simple as possible. This means we don't require any packaging to be kept or returned and depending on the term of the agreement we may not require chargers to be returned to us either.

Parental Contribution

Parental contribution schemes are chosen by schools to help fund the 1:1 deployments. This often means parents will pay a portion or the whole cost of an iPad for use at school and at home. This gives each child independence whilst learning and enables them to take the device home each day. MCC Digital, in collaboration with the school, provide support for parents and guardians to understand this option.

Bespoke portal

Each school that chooses parental contribution has access to a custom built deployment portal, allowing parents and children to choose their device, from a pre-set range, choose their colour and accessories. Each parent or guardian is then prompted to enter payment details and sign any terms and conditions of use that the school has decided to implement before the devices are delivered.

Independent learners at home and school

Schools that choose parental contribution schemes as their method for funding deployment often see huge increases in student and parent engagement with learning and lower breakage rates. Children and their parents show the devices more care both in school and at home, allowing for a more collaborative and independent learning experience.

Is Parental Contribution for everyone?

The short answer is maybe, whilst a parental contribution scheme is an effective way of ensuring schools have access to the latest technology, it must be carefully considered. There are many factors to be explored, from the backing of the wider school community, to understanding how schools will work around pupil premium. We run schemes that vary from as few as 12 pupils all the way to 1000's of devices. These deployments are bespoke, every time.

Reduced costs

Schools could consider the use of a parental contribution scheme as a way of reducing the schools existing 1:1 programme. Allowing parents to co-fund the scheme alongside investment from the school. Devices would go home with children so that parents see the benefit to their contribution both during and outside of regular school hours.
