Archbishop Temple Church of England High School, a distinguished secondary institution located in Preston, Lancashire, caters to 775 pupils aged 11 to 16. The school is committed to delivering an outstanding education, grounded in its core values of faith, nurture, and service. The leadership team has long envisioned creating a vibrant and engaging learning environment, a goal that has been realised through collaboration with MCC Digital.

The school's vision centres on ensuring that all pupils have constant access to mobile technologies to enhance their learning experience. The iPad has become a vital component of Archbishop Temple’s educational toolkit. Head Teacher Mr Ivan Catlow emphasises the school's commitment, stating, "Our teachers are constantly working with iPad to research and trial the latest developments in this new technology to ensure that this exciting development in our teaching style has a real and quantifiable benefit to the learning experience and achievements of our pupils.”

MCC Digital has also facilitated the automatic enrolment of devices into the school's management system and provided ongoing support for teaching staff through classroom-based continuous professional development (CPD) throughout the academic year.

Staff members have noted the positive impact of iPads on the teaching and learning experience. Many teachers observe that pupils are now more engaged and focused during lessons, thanks to the integration of iPads. In some classes, interactive software allows students to compete against their peers and assess their understanding at the beginning or end of lessons. The results yield instantaneous feedback, enabling teachers to gauge progress effectively.

CPD visits from an Apple Professional Learning Specialist provided by MCC Digital have really helped to inspire best practice across our school."

Throughout the school, departments continually explore innovative ways to integrate iPads into classroom activities while maintaining a high standard of teaching and learning. When asked about the resources and benefits that enhance their iPad programme, staff highlighted the various materials available from Apple, including the "Everyone Can" series, which supports effective management of the one-to-one programme.

A particular favourite among teachers is the Apple Classroom app, which enables them to monitor students’ activities in real time and direct them to resources quickly and efficiently. Several departments have also begun incorporating augmented reality apps, which breathe new life into subjects and captivate pupils’ interest.
